6. Razzberry Rhinoceros

One of the hidden jewels of Mumbai, located in Juhu with ample Parking space at any time of the day. The walk towards the restaurant is through a passage of guest rooms of the hotel. The entire ambience and colouring of the walls are the closest you can be to Santorini while being present in Mumbai. At present travel comes with its concomitant fear of Covid. Thus a visit to this lounge is probably the best option to be at the comfort of your city while experiencing a piece of a distant land

The restaurant has an AC lounge as well as an Outdoor seating area. In the daytime, the outside seating might be a bit uncomfortable due to the hot sun of Mumbai. However, I always prefer to sit out as the view of the sea and the breeze makes me lively. The food spread is good enough to choose the cuisine of your choice. The quintessential item is a chilled beer to beat the stress and humdrum of city life. The service can be slow at times and the price is definitely Premium.

The place does get electric in the weekend evening and is a popular joint for young and old to party the night out. Currently, it is on hold as the State continue to eschew opening up the economy due to the state of trepidation created by the virus

5. Bora Bora Duty Free

A very popular joint frequented by youngsters in the heart of Juhu. The view of Juhu beach and the beautiful Arabian Sea will surely enchant one and all. Therefore the table overlooking the Juhu beach can only be booked with a minimum billing commitment of ₹6000/-

Valet services are available with a fee of ₹500 as the vehicle is parked at the designated beach parking. Reservations are accepted and it highly recommended especially at the weekend. The lounge is located on the first floor which is accessible through a staircase. I could not notice a platform or an elevator for patrons who have mobility challenges and thus better to check before venturing.

I could hear a tumult as I was climbing up the stairs and on entering the lounge was welcome by good vibes and energy. The choice of lights and the liberal use of green plants immediately caught my attention. I managed to find an isolated corner that allows me to observe the crowd and soak a bit of the flowing energy.

I was pleasantly surprised by the economical pricing of drinks in the heart of Juhu. Thus made good use of it with delicious sides which complimented my liquor. The music was peppy and kept getting better as the night progressed. The staff was quite warm and friendly but I wish they can be trained better on Covid protocols

Normally the lounge stays awake till 1 AM. But I guess, we will have to wait for the good times to come back. Till then, please check the State govt Covid protocols and make yourself available accordingly.

4. Sea Side Patio

This small restaurant is located inside the Citizen Hotel in Juhu. In case you are using a GPS to navigate please slow down 50 metres from the destination, as it would require a sharp left turn. Valet services are available with ample parking.

The seats facing the sea are always in demand so reserve in advance. Else you will get a seat in the alley beside the hotel building. The restaurant resembles the English alphabet L & somehow I loved it.

It is a multi-cuisine restaurant and has a stock of all the popular brands to keep the throat wet. My recommendation would be to try the Red Sangria. The price is moderate and the quantity optimum. If I have to sum up in a single sentence I will say, “Complete value for money with a view”.

3. Bayview- All day dining

The restaurant is located on the first floor of the Marine Plaza hotel. I found the staff extremely serious about the Covid safety protocols and the seating arrangements were in line with Social distancing norms. I was extremely lucky to get a window table in spite of not reserving my seat in advance. But, I strongly recommend to please reserve in advance as the view beside the window will outlive the aroma of the food for sure

I would like to clarify that my above statement does not undermine the quality of food. The food is definitely delicious but the experience of sipping a glass of wine and admiring the Marine drive is too blissful an experience.

Is Mumbai all about Marine drive? Of course not. But we cannot imagine a Mumbai without a Marine drive and Queen’s necklace too. Therefore this is a perfect setting to celebrate a special occasion with a gastronomical delight accompanied with astronomical satisfaction of a lovely sea view in Mumbai city

2. Soho House Mumbai

This is just the kind of restaurant which I am fond of. The setting is perfect for both day and night. I always prefer a sea view restaurant in the daytime. Due to the gorgeous sun, the footfall on the beaches is negligible allowing an unadulterated view. It is the perfect setting to sip in a chilled beer and write down my thoughts for my next blog. The roof of the restaurant is covered thus the sun won’t hinder the concentration or introspection a budding blogger needs

In the nightime there is more vibrancy around the beach and the cool evening breeze brings in a bit of romance. This is the time to migrate from being a solitary soul to sharing a meal with friends or family. This is a lovely place to celebrate special occasions or come on a date. The pricing of the food and beverages are premium but the quality excellent.

The panoramic view of the Sea makes this restaurant extra special for me. The windows are like a photo frame and when you view the sea through it beauty gets enhance multifold. I can bet this is a splendid setting to keep your Instagram profile busy

There is a quaint coffee shop at the entrance of the hotel. It is artistically designed with a blend of modernity and contemporary designs. The chairs and the tables are in perfect height to catch up on work and sip a cup of good coffee. This is a special place for me and for a long time I was in 2 minds whether to share it in my blog or not!

1. Bay View Cafe

This is the ultimate destination in Mumbai city for lovers of sea view restaurants. To make it more exciting it is located a stone throw away distance from the Radio Club, Taj Mahal Palace Hotel and of course the Gateway of India. The mesmerising view of the Arabian sea with hundreds of Yachts parked in the vicinity gives a sense of a Medeterrinian coastline while sitting in the heart of Mumbai.

The restaurants have an Indoor AC lounge as well as an open-air zone. The pricing is quite economic for food but a bit on the expensive side for the beverages( alcohol). I am sure once in a while, all of us will be more than willing to shell a few shillings for the view. The food is a combination of Indian and continental. The weekends are packed and thus it is advisable to reserve in advance to get a table closest to the boundary of the balcony.

Seldom I visit a restaurant that does not have Parking or Valet. Bay View is the only exception and thus speaks volumes about the impact it has on me. Notwithstanding a little bit of patience will get you a parking spot on Gateway Boulevard.

Try out the Tandoori Mushroom, chicken in BBQ sauce and Penne with vegetables which are some of my favourites. If you are going on a date for the first time, this is surely a great place to woo your partner.
